Steve's work combines fairly loose improvisational lines with lines that were contemplated over a longer period over time. Often the work is divided into numerous panels. This multi-paneled approach gives the work a kind of visual tempo. Consider dancers on a dance floor - each contributing in their own way but at the same time they contribute to an overall picture.
